Why do you want to serve on the Board of Directors of GTG?
We are often at Green Top 2–3 times a week! I know that I
can always count on finding what I need and more. I love the stories behind the products and the community that has been built in this store. I always run into friends, neighbors and some of my students. I would like to serve on the Board so I can help ensure Green Top’s success for many years to come.
What are you passionate about? How could we see that passion in action in your day-to-day life?
I am passionate about our environment, and reducing the amount of waste our culture creates.
I am passionate about the quality of life for the people behind the products we buy. This passion
is not only evident in the way I live my personal life every day and within my own consumption habits, but also in my career at ISU.
Describe an experience where you worked on a team. What did you offer the team? How did you compromise for the team’s benefit?
I am often the “idea” person in a group — I enjoy collaborating with others to solve problems.
Many have said I am the calm voice of reason during difficult conversations. I work with numerous “teams” at ISU, whether it be faculty, staff, or students. As an example, there are many sustainability initiatives I would like to see on campus, but I recognize there are several moving parts, and meeting in the middle is sometimes the best (or only) option.
Other things to know about me:
As a long-time resident of Bloomington-Normal, I enjoy volunteering my time and giving back
to our great community. I participated in Leadership McLean County (class of 2018), assist with sustainability efforts within District 87, and currently sit on the Board for Ecology Action Center.
I bring enthusiasm, knowledge, and passion with me everywhere I go. I believe I would be a great asset to the Green Top Board of Directors.
