Why do you want to serve on the Board of Directors of GTG?

I’d like to get more formal board experience and what better way to do that than with an organization that I already support and am deeply invested in the success of that business. I believe in the mission of GTG and would like to be more involved in the long-term success of the store.

What are you passionate about? How could we see that passion in action in your day-to-day life?

#shoplocal If you know me, it’s easy to identify that shopping and investing in my local community are important to me. Our family lives the #firststopgreentop motto and are regular fixtures in the store. We have supported the store with both donations and owner loans. We patronize locally owned businesses, services, restaurants and activities as much as possible.

Describe an experience where you worked on a team. What did you offer the team? How did you compromise for the team’s benefit?

I have quite a bit of team experience, both professionally and personally. In my professional life, I supervise and work as a part of a 6 person team. Personally, I work with teams through both Indivisible McLean County and the Promise Council. I offer multiple perspectives to a team and am able to adjust my perspective to offer valuable views from different angles. I’ve often compromised while on a team, whether that is in following a different direction than I may personally want or by altering my communication style to work better with another teammate.

Other things to know about me:

I’m a big fan of the taco bar, if that helps! 🙂
